Two passengers die as Maun bound bus burns to ashes

Investigations are still ongoing to establish what could have led to a bus that was traveling from Gaborone to Maun catching fire and burning to ashes yesterday night. The accident left two passengers dead.

Botswana Police Service (BPS)' spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Dipheko Motube said the accident occured around 23:30 pm at Ga-modubu along the A12 road.

"The bus was carrying 77 passengers when it caught fire. Investigations into the matter are ongoing to establish the cause of the fire. The two unidentified deceased passengers were found in the wreckage while 15 sustained minor injuries and 60 escaped uninjured," Motube said.
