JWANENG: Two of the four men who were arrested early this year for assaulting and causing serious injuries to Gofaone Tsimako have pleaded not guilty to a charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

When appearing before Magistrate Odirile Mokgatle on Tuesday, Keditlwaetse Mokgetlapula (34) and Pako Motsumi (27) both from Khahea, said they will conduct their own defence while the prosecution intends to call seven witnesses to testify in the case.

Early this year, Tsimako narrated to our sister publication (The Monitor) how he escaped death by a thread after being heavily assaulted by two men who suspected that he stole their phone during a drinking episode at Unit 2 in Jwaneng. The assault left him with a throat injury, broken nose, waist and arm.
