Twelve injured in bus accident

Twelve passengers sustained minor injuries after a bus they were travelling in was in an accident that involved two other vehicles and cattle near Mmokolodi Village yesterday morning.

Superintendent Lebogang  Ndlovu, of Old Naledi Police Station, told Mmegi that the accident occurred 200 meters from the Mmokolodi - A1 junction.

One of the vehicles was an AMT Travel bus on its way to Lobatse from Gaborone. Twelve of the 20 passengers on board sustained minor injuries.  Superintendent Ndlovu said the police are yet to establish the cause of the accident, although it appears that a Toyota Land Cruiser was attempting to overtake the bus as it slowed down to allow cattle to cross the road. Meanwhile a third vehicle was heading towards the bus from the direction of Lobatse.
