Thug thanks filling station after robbery

A man armed with a pistol entered Tlokweng Engen Filling Station on Tuesday night and demanded cash after firing a shot into the ceiling. He pocketed P5,000, politely said 'thank you' to the attendants before he disappeared into the darkness.

One of the employees said the incident happened so fast that they did not even see the robber properly.  A security guard at the filling station, Nkgopolang Segwape, said the thug was wearing black clothes and his mouth was covered with a cloth. “Only his eyes were visible,” he said.

He told Mmegi that the suspect was tall and slender.  He said the suspect shouted for money after firing a shot.  The security guard said that the gunman went around the shop and fired more shots to scare people. After he got what he wanted, he nonchalantly stood by the door and thanked the cashiers before disappearing on foot. A few minutes later, the police and security systems patrol unit arrived and tried to track the thug but lost his trail.
