FRANCISTOWN: It is Wednesday afternoon and the president of the Botswana Peoples Party (BPP) Motlatsi Molapise is lazing about at his Somerset-West home. He has been fixed to the verandah of his main house since morning choosing not to go anywhere, but listen to news and commentaries on various radio stations.

The main door to the house leads to the lounge where a television set is tuned to the Botswana Television.

In particular, he is targeting news and current affairs programmes on the recent Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) unity deal and the sharing of constituencies by the four parties: Botswana Congress Party (BCP), Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD), Botswana National Front (BNF) and the BPP.
