Thamaga bogosi ‘heirs’ to sue

The three daughters of the late Thamaga tribal leader, Kgosi Gobuamang Gobuamang, have written to the minister for the second time after what they allege was a failure on his part to respond to their first letter requesting his intervention in the current bogosi conflict.
The three sisters, who believe they are the legitimate heirs to the throne, are Pinky, Bone, and Tebogo. According to the sisters’ attorney, Uyapo Ndadi, Minister Autlewetse had failed to respond to the first letter dated April 20, 2023, despite what they say it raised pertinent issues that needed to be addressed. In the letter, they had requested Autlwetse to invoke Section 22(3) of the Bogosi Act which empowers him to act and recognise any person the community chooses as their tribal leader.
