Taxi piracy a headache for F/town police

FRANCISTOWN: Police at Francistown Central police station have conceded that they are struggling to deal with a soaring number of pirating taxis.

“Between early July and to-date we have registered 39 cases of illegal operators. The number is that of those who transport goods without BA permits and those who transport passengers using fake registration taxis,” the station commander at Francistown Central police station superintendent Lebalang Maniki said in an interview this week.

He said most of those involved are locals and foreigners from Zimbabwe.
