Tawana Land Board in lease war

Tawana Land Board will have to live with its mistake after awarding a business lease instead of a tourism one to a safari company. The Land Board lost its bid to rescind the awarded lease and rectify the error.

The Land Board has since 2012 been entangled in a bitter war with the company, Wutuka Takwenda Adventure, a few months after the lease was issued. The Land Board cited that a mistake was made as the lease was supposed to be a tourism one.

Wutuka had been running a fishing camp on Etsetsa Island in the Panhandle area of the Okavango River.
