LOBATSE: Opposition councillors had harsh words for member of Presidential Task Team and former Cabinet minister, Jonnie Swartz, labelling the presidential initiative as a gravy train for former ministers.

Members of the Presidential Task Team had come here to brief the full council meeting on their progress. The team has been tasked with inspecting the performance of government programmes across the country and giving the feedback to President Ian Khama.

After Swartz gave a brief update on their progress, the UDC’s Boswelatlou ward councillor, Themba Stimela reacted harshly saying he disapproved of the formation of the Presidential Task Team. Stimela told Swartz that the task team existed only to “create jobs” for “Khama’s favourites” and was of questionable establishment.
