Student Trip Sour For Some, Glorious For Others

Students who could not afford the trip gazed in despair as their colleagues boarded the bus that took them on an educational trip.

The needy looked on in envy as the buses carrying their well off friends passed them by. They desperately wanted to see these beautiful places in the city but their parents could not raise the needed P450 for the trip.

"We brought 57 students out of the total 220 Form 2s. All the needy students and orphans failed to secure the funds from the social services, but they wanted to come. The social workers said there was no money because of the recession," said Obonetse Lebakanyane, the teacher who accompanied the students from Boipelego Community Junior Secondary School in Serowe.
