Childline Botswana has berated the recent inhumane attacks that led to deaths of children across the country, describing the incidents as ‘nothing but abominable acts’.

The organisation, which oversees the well being of children in the country, made its feelings clear in a press release on Friday. "Childline Botswana is deeply horrified and saddened by the recent tragic events involving the brutal murders of innocent children," it said. The recent death tragedies include the demise of two children in Francistown where a Monarch man killed his own kids. Just this week another man from the second capital brutally murdered his three children and stabbed his own mother in the process. Childline highlighted that the recent trends should be a wakeup call for Batswana to nip the situation in the bud before it gets out of control. "These barbaric acts offer insights into the collective psycho social wellbeing of our society and we should all be ashamed as we are concerned," added the statement. The organisation further called on men to take a stand against the brewing pandemic. "We call on men as a matter of urgency to convene their men’s conference and reflect on this shameful development in our nation," Childline Botswana said. It further highlighted that a multifaceted approach was needed to curb the killings of children. Childline Botswana offered its support to advocate against killings children whenever needed across the country.
