�Standardise SHHA plot allocations�� Hambira

Specially elected councillor, Rupert Hambira, has urged Gaborone City Council (GCC) to standardise Self Help Housing Agency (SHHA) allocation procedures to curb corruption in the ruling body. Speaking at the ongoing full council meeting in Gaborone recently, Hambira told the house that he suspects that ‘there is something fishy going on’ concerning allocation of SHHA plots.

Hambira, a former SHHA chairperson, said that he was surprised to learn that 47 plots were allocated without his involvement during his reign. 

He said that a standardised procedure would help keep record of people who were allocated plots, the dates they applied and the number of plots allocated.
