S/Phikwe women 'take the bull by the horns'

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Efforts to empower women are beginning to bear fruit as evidenced by the number of women participating in various projects.

Since the opening of the Women's Affairs Department office here, a considerable number of businesses owned and run by women have been established, some of them in traditionally male dominated sectors like cattle farming.

Two beef cattle production projects run by women are the envy of many in this copper-nickel mining town.  With funding from Women's Affairs, the women have established feedlots.
