Soldier faces charge for cop's murder

Gaborone West Police Station is investigating the murder of 31-year-old police officer, Neo Tebogo Mogatsaseno. She was killed on April 15 by her alleged boyfriend, Warona Koloka, a soldier.

Assistant Superintendent Baboneng Modiege told Mmegi Online that they received a report on Monday of a lifeless body discovered in Block 9 near the trenches. Modiege added that a team of officers was dispatched to the scene.

"When we arrived there, our police officers indeed found the body and took it to the nearby hospital where she was unfortunately certified dead upon arrival," Modiege said.

Providing an update on the investigations, Modiege revealed that the police have since arrested the suspect, 33-year-old Koloka, in connection with the murder. Koloka appeared before the Village Magistrate Court today. "The suspect appeared before court today for arraignment on a single count of murder," he stated. The accused is expected to appear for mention on May 2.
