PALAPYE: Former president Sir Ketumile says it is time to privatise some government services. Sir Ketumile was responding to a question from a Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST) student, Omphile Morubisi during a public lecture on Tuesday. Sir Ketumile said the country’s former leaders have for many years been agitating for privatisation of some services.

“Don’t you think that it is high time our government because we are now a developing country, relieves itself of some services by privatising them so that we don’t find the country broke without money? “The country has developed so much because of privatisation of some services; our country can also do that and the government can only focus on other developments like construction of roads, schools and hospitals,” said Morubisi.
