Shortage of water in Maun hot political potato

As elections draw closer, the acute shortage of water in Maun for the past three weeks has given opposition politicians the right ammunition to open fire at the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) during political rallies.

BDP council and parliamentary candidates, particularly those seeking re-election, are accused of failure to provide developments to the people and failing those who voted them into office in 2004.

Speaking at a political rally on Sunday, BAM/BCP Kgosing Ward council candidate Magonamo Mmolainyana blasted former BDP councillors, many of them standing for re-election for having failed dismally to provide the village with uninterrupted water supply.
