A man accused of killing a Zimbabwean man told the Gaborone High Court on Friday that he had only wanted to buy a ‘cheap prostitute’ and not get into trouble.

Mogami Dijo, the accused, told Justice Michael Mothobi that he had gone out ‘desperately seeking’ to buy sex.“I was told by my friend that if I needed to fix myself sexually there were plenty of prostitutes at a certain location selling at a cheap price. I proceeded to the place with one thing on my mind,” he said. 

He, however, did not anticipate that his outing would lead to fighting for his life and subsequently stabbing a man to death. Dijo, who admitted killing a man on May 8, 2010, testified that he was at a drinking spot in Tlokweng where he met a Zimbabwean woman he mistook for a prostitute.
