Serenity Rehabilitation Centre, a home-based care organisation, has officially launched a dedicated Day Care Centre for elderly people to address growing concerns about mental health and social isolation amongst seniors.

The event was held in Tlokweng on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.

Morwadi Mosenki, operations director of Serenity, underscored the critical need for such services in Botswana’s communities. "Mental health has been taken for granted, especially amongst elderly people, leading to conditions like dementia, due to lack of recreational activities and social engagement, hence we at Serenity come in,” said Mosenki. She added that the organisation’s mandate is to rejuvenate individuals so they can live dignified, active lives and reintegrate into society as mentally well citizens.
