Second Death In Kweneng Suicide Shooting

A 39-year old woman who was shot twice by her boyfriend has died.

The woman, who hails from Sesung Village in the Kweneng District, was shot twice - once in the stomach and once in the leg - by her 49-year old boyfriend. After the shooting she was admitted to hospital in critical condition and died a day later. Her assailant hails from Kopong, Kweneng District.

The Commander of Sir Seretse Khama Police Station, Superintendent Banneetse Keakile, says the shooting came after the two had a misunderstanding. Police investigations so far indicate that the woman left their shared residential house at Kgaphamadi and went to stay at a chicken farm where she worked after the two fell out. Keakile says on the day of the incident, the man took a friend's shotgun and went in search of the woman at the chicken farm where he shot her twice and fled the scene.
