Saleshando rubbishes Khama's speech

Opposition MPs continued their onslaught on President Ian Khama's State of the Nation Address with Gilson Saleshando of the Botswana Congress Party (BCP) dismissing it as only good for the dustbin.

Known for his caustic tongue, the Selebi-Phikwe MP was in full flow on Monday, condemning Khama’s address and various government policies.

Responding to Khama’s declaration early this month that “we are all deeply indebted to the founders of our great republic” and that this is a legacy that he has pledged to uphold, Saleshando said this worried him because it is a legacy of intolerance.
