Botswana National Front Youth League (BNFYL) president, Khumoekae Richard plans to mount an appeal, after he was axed from his formal job last week following a disciplinary hearing for misconduct.

Richard was employed in the Office of the Member of Parliament for Gaborone Central. The National Assembly hauled him before a hearing for violating the Public Service Act’s provisions against political activism and he was dismissed with effect from September 22.

In a brief interview yesterday, Richard confirmed his intentions to appeal. He explained that he received his dismissal two days before Independence Day and the major reason given was his political activism.
