Twaelang said some refugees were abusing the generosity extended to them by the community by engaging in acts of theft, particularly of cattle and goats.

“The rising crime of livestock theft is adversely affecting Batswana. Some refugees kill livestock and sell their meat. This is disheartening and is an embarrassment to the refugee community. These acts of crime could lead to unnecessary tensions between the refugees and Batswana,” said Twaelang.
