Rapist Found Guilty

FRANCISTOWN: An alleged rapist who lured his victim with a cellphone has been found guilty. Modiegi Ginger was convicted by Magistrate Dumisani Basupi. In his ruling, Basupi said it is not always possible for victims to confide in strangers when one has been raped.

Ginger was alleged to have raped his victim at Ntshe on October 8, 2014.

Basupi said the prosecutor in the matter, Ogolotse Tampa told the court that the victim was afraid to tell anyone about her ordeal because the accused had threatened her.
