A high-level business delegation led by His Highness Sheikh Mansour has arrived in Botswana to seal strategic development partnerships.

Mmegi can confirm that the delegation arrived on Wednesday and was received by the Minister of Trade and Entrepreneurship, Tiroeaone Ntsima, on behalf of the government. According to insiders, the tour could be a turning point for Botswana’s economy, currently experiencing headwinds. Although details remain sketchy now, it is anticipated that Al Mansour Holdings, a conglomerate led by Mansour, who is also Qatar Government's Director of Communications, will sign several strategic development partnerships geared towards socio-economic growth. Sources state that the delegation is here to finalise massive investments anticipated to reinvigorate the economy across different sectors.

Sources further state that the Qatar investment in Africa will cover 10 countries, including the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), which is expected to seal more than $20 billion in the investment drive, while the remaining nine countries will reportedly get between $5 billion to $10 billion. According to sources, this signals a bold move by Qatar to strengthen diplomatic relations and drive economic growth across various nations of the world. Mmegi has learnt that the Qatar delegation was in Zambia earlier this week. In Zambia, Mansour and his team met with President Hakainde Hichilema. Al Mansour Holdings reportedly signed a $19 billion partnership in areas of energy, banking, finance, and housing sectors to name a few.
