'Punitive' omang replacement fee begins june 1

The Assistant Communications Manager for the Ministry of Labour and Home Affairs, Osesenaqa Lekgoko, has also revealed that the amount has been revised upwards from P100 to P110.
Lekgoko denied allegations that there was inconsistency in the replacement fee for the Botswana ID card popularly known as Omang because the new system was not yet operational. She added that the P110 fee would apply to cases of lost ID cards only. Replacement occasioned by other reasons, such as change of name, will be made after the 10-year expiry date on each card. New applications will remain at P5.
