Public service employees display solidarity with fired workers

*BOFEPUSU to hand over petition to MoH
Public sector employees across the country will be dressed in black today, to mark the dismissal of over 2,800 public service employees who partook in the historic industrial action last year.

Scores of government workers lost their jobs on May 16, 2011, following the historic strike, when the civil service employees demanded a 16 percent salary hike.

Moreover, the Botswana Federation of Public Sector Unions (BOFEPUSU) will hand over a petition to the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Dr Kolaatamo Malefho, requesting the re-instatement of workers in the sector.
