Poverty compromises quality of education - teachers

MAKOBO: Only the noise of innocent young kids playing and screaming loudly would remind one that this is actually Makobo Primary School.

It may however bring pain to those who are emotionally weak to see children as young as seven years coming each day to school barefoot, mucus flowing down their noses, wearing oversized khaki shorts that seem to have been washed ages ago.

It is most disheartening to imagine how such a young child feels, in unpleasant weather which we find older people, shivering whilst wearing very heavy coats.
