Policeman has the last laugh

FRANCISTOWN: A Botswana Police Service (BPS) sergeant Petros Lesole has won his malicious prosecution case against the State.

Lesole, who is based at Sehithwa village in the North West district, had sued the Commissioner of BPS, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and the Attorney General (AG) for close to P1,3 million.

In his claim through his attorney Isaac Seleka, Lesole wanted P1 million as damages for malicious prosecution, P247,000 as legal costs, and P65,000 damages for loss of interest in investment in the BPS Loan and Guarantee Scheme, among others.
