Police shoot wrong person

FRANCISTOWN: Magistrate Sijabuliso Siziba has said that it will be unreliable to link an attempted robbery suspect with the crime after the police gave contradictory statements in court last week.

When delivering a ruling yesterday in a case in which the police shot Abraham Sithole on his thigh on September 4, 2012 at Selepa location, Siziba came short of labelling the conduct of the police unprofessional.

“The police received a report that somebody had trespassed into the yard of the Mponde family in Selepa. It is alleged that the intruder was wearing a blue work suit.
