Investigations are underway after a 24-year-old woman of Seforo ward, Ikongwe village was found lying lifeless in her boyfriend’s bed on Saturday afternoon in Shoshong.

According to the police, the young woman’s boyfriend, a 40-year-old man of Phaleng ward in Shoshong said he had left for work on Saturday morning leaving his girlfriend sleeping. Shoshong’s acting police station commander, Assistant Superintendent Nchidzi Mpayang said they received the report from the deceased’s boyfriend on Saturday at around 4pm. “The boyfriend said he left for work in the morning when his girlfriend was still resting and whilst at work he tried to reach her through her mobile phone a couple of times but didn't answer her phone. “Later in the afternoon when returning home he found the girlfriend lying motionless in bed and reported the matter to the police.

She had vomited on the blankets,” he said. Mpayang said the deceased was rushed to Mahalapye Hospital where she was certified dead on arrival by the doctors. He further revealed with the help of the doctors and the deceased’s family they have since launched an investigation to establish what could have caused the deceased’s sudden death. “We are currently waiting for a detailed report from the doctors to clear any doubts and establish what caused her death. The couple was last seen together at one of the local bars on Friday night entertaining themselves, drinking alcohol. The boyfriend said he left her in good condition in the morning and didn't complain of any pain or sickness,” Mpayang said.
