Police arrest freelance photojournalist

After failing to arrest the Kgosikgolo ya Bakgatla Kgafela Kgafela, members of the Botswana Police Service who were patrolling the Village Magistrates Court yesterday could not entertain the idea of going home empty handed.

They arrested freelance photojournalist Lefoko Mogapaesi and took him to Central Police Station handcuffed. The main reason for the arrest is that he was obstructing the police from doing their job.

Other photojournalists who were closer to the action told this paper that the police had requested them to move away and they did, but Mogapaesi refused protesting why this was not extended to the Botswana Television cameraman who was allowed to continue taking pictures.
