On Thursday deputy speaker Kagiso Molatlhegi was forced to call for early adjournment of parliament after the House failed to form a quorum.

This quorum collapsed following the debate on the Trade Dispute ammendment Bill. As the debates on the amendments of the controversial Clause 46 (1), which lists cadres that the Bill seeks to make essential services, opposition Members of Parliament who had debated against the clause walked out of the House one after another resulting in the quorum to collapse. Their walk out was probably a registration of their frustration.

Molatlhegi instructed the Chief Whip Liakat Kablay to call members into the House but his efforts were unsuccessful as he managed to come back with a few ruling party members who were outside parliament. Molatlhegi had signalled that there was only turn minutes left in the time that had been allocated the debate on the aforesaid Bill.
