P180,000 for VIP knives & forks

A total of US$24,228 (approximately P178,000) was used to buy cutlery for OK 1, Botswana's Presidential Jet that was bought for US$47,5 million (approximately P349,125,000), Parliament heard yesterday.

The Minister of Defence, Justice and Security, Ramadeluka Seretse, said the cost of the aircraft included painting the body of the jet and engraving the Botswana coat of arms on it.

Seretse was responding to a question by the MP for Francistown South, Wynter Mmolotsi, who had asked how much was used to buy and fit the coat of arms on the new jet.
