Opposition youth set cue for unity

The three main opposition youth leagues yesterday set the cue for opposition unity when they reached a number of resolutions together. In a statement issued yesterday, following a joint meeting convened by the leadership of the BCP, BMD and BNF Youth Leagues the parties say they resolved that:

There will be a joint commemoration of the Day of the African Child, otherwise known as June 16, at a venue to be announced in Gaborone. A steering committee made up of representatives from the three youth leagues has been set up to work on the logistics of the event. The youth leaders say that the resolutions were taken as an attempt to encourage solidarity among youth driven by the three main opposition parties.

" At the same meeting the three youth leagues conveyed their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of the late Baledzi Gaolathe. To them we say "Our hearts go out to you in your time of sorrow. May the comfort of God help you during this difficult time," reads part of the statement.
