Opposition youth leagues advocate for merging of parties

Youth league presidents of the opposition parties have said they will lobby their respective parties into discussions of a possible merger.

The parties are namely Botswana Congress party (BCP), Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) and Botswana National Front (BNF). However the president of the BNF Youth League, Kagiso Ntime said they would make the presentations on a possible merger at the BNF congress in July.

The leaders say they will meanwhile work together as  youth leagues in commemorating the Day of the African Child on June 16. The youth leagues will commemorate the day under the theme 'Education is my right.'
