Opposition parties baulk at Kedikilwe proclamation

FRANCISTOWN: The country's opposition parties have reacted with shock to news of postponement of the controversy-ridden Francistown West constituency by-election to replace the late Tshelang Masisi of the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP).

The BDP-led government announced yesterday through the state media that the elections had been postponed to early next year.

Opposition Members of Parliament (MP) angrily stormed out of Parliament on learning of the postponement of the by-election from the set date of November 23 to January 25 next year.
