Nursing allowances are not for soldiers - Seretse

The Minister of Defence, Justice and Security, Ramadeluka Seretse has said that nurses employed by the Botswana Defence Force (BDF) do not qualify for the 30 percent overtime allowance because they are soldiers and must be on duty 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

 

Seretse was responding to a parliamentary question by Francistown South Member of Parliament (MP) Wynter Mmolotsi who had wanted to know if the minister was aware that BDF soldiers had not been awarded the overtime allowance when it was rolled out to other nurses.
