Nurses, midwives drop pills

Botswana Nurses Union (BONU) has called on nurses, midwives, and members of the public to report any nurse or midwife found dispensing medication and other related substances.

The union had given government until July 1 to ensure that pharmacy technicians are employed to take over as it had been illegal for nurses and midwives to do the same.

According to BONU representative Kenosi Mogorosi, the talks they had with the Ministry of Health (MoH) bore no fruit and they have since ceased dispensing prescriptions.
