A statement from the secretary of the Judicial Services Commission Michael Motlhabi, issued yesterday informs the public that in terms of the Presidential Elections (Supplementary Provisions) Act Cap.02:01 the nomination of candidates for the office of President shall take place on the first Saturday following the expiry of 20 days after the dissolution of the National Assembly.

“His Excellency the President dissolved the National Assembly on 29th August 2014.

The nomination of candidates for the office of President shall therefore be handed to the returning officer at the High Court at Gaborone on Saturday 20th September 2014 between the hours of 10 o’clock in the forenoon and 1 o’clock in the afternoon, or between 2 o’clock and 5 o’clock in the afternoon,” the statement says.
