NGOs praised for their contributions

He said this at the NGO council visibility workshop that was held at Adansonia Hotel last Friday that attracted NGOs from Francistown, North East and Central Districts. He said that over the years, the spirit of voluntarism from many community members manifested itself in the building of schools and hospitals. 

The government, on the other hand, took over these projects as a way of furthering the dreams of the communities. "The NGOs have achieved a lot in so many areas like health and HIV/AIDS sector.  "They have been providing care and support for people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS through home based care programmes, public education, provision of voluntary counseling and testing services," he said.
