New BDP 'signings' cry foul

Three opposition members, who on Monday were paraded at a Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) briefing as having jumped ship, have retraced their steps saying they were deceived by ruling party handlers.

Tshepo Khan, Olebile Khan and Batsile Porompeta were part of a group of 10 Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) and Botswana Congress Party (BCP) members who were paraded at a BDP press conference on Monday.

BDP chairman, Mokgweetsi Masisi welcomed the 10 as new democrats saying they had jumped ship from the opposition’s ranks.
