FRANCISTOWN: Ombudsman Augustine Makgonatsotlhe said Friday that a new Act is being drafted at the Attorney General’s Chambers, which might transform the way they do their business.

Speaking at the Ombudsman/Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime (DCEC) stakeholder seminar held at Adansonia Hotel here, Makgonatsotlhe said that a bill proposing the amendment of the Ombudsman Act is expected next July.

“You can’t divorce issues of human rights from the office of the Ombudsman and as such the proposed bill will take cognisance of human rights and the amendment may be will make the current office expand and develop more teeth,” he said leaving the seminar in stitches of laughter.
