Mystery as phane harvesters escape shooting

SELEBI-PHIKWE: A group of phane harvesters is still in shock after narrowly escaping a shooting by unidentified men in Mathathane, police have confirmed.

Baines Drift station commander, Superintendent Onneetse Gagogosha told Mmegi the two women also claimed to have seen two dead people in the bush as they ran for their lives, escaping the shooting.

The incident occurred on December 22 when the two women were harvesting the local delicacy in the bushes between Mathathane and Seletswe fields.
