FRANCISTOWN: Forty-three-year-old Oganetsamang Oatlhotse of Shashemooke village appeared in court for allegedly killing another person while on bail. The state alleges that Oatlhotse murdered Eyani Thini at Jamataka village near Shashemooke on January 29.

Prosecutor Kelebonye Matsapa made an application for Oatlhotse to be remanded in custody because police investigations into the matter have just started.

“The accused was only arrested on Tuesday this week. The investigating team handling his current murder allegation has not recorded statements from potential witnesses. An autopsy of what killed the deceased has not been availed to us. We fear that if the accused is granted bail, he may interfere with our investigations,” said Matsapa.
