Botswana National Front (BNF) president, Otsweletse Moupo has said the appointment of soldiers to strategic positions in the civil service does not mean the country is under a military dictatorship.

He said he is opposed to the appointments but it is not politically right to declare the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) government a military one. He added that those who are close to the government must advise it. "I don't think it is military dictatorship.People who characterise it as such will not see it (military dictatorship) by the time it comes," Moupo said.

Presenting the BNF manifesto at the University of Botswana (UB) library auditorium, Moupo urged voters to vote his party into power on October 16 to avoid a looming military dictatorship.
