Moroka Women Start Bakery To Fight Poverty

FRANCISTOWN: A group of five women at Moroka village have established a bakery business in response to the rampant poverty and unemployment situation that has afflicted their village.

One of the group members Mariam Sinyika, 66, told The Monitor that they are currently running a backyard bakery, which they started after presenting their idea to the social worker in the village in 2014.

Sinyika said that same year they were enrolled and registered to be assisted under Social and Community Development (S&CD) poverty eradication scheme.
