Moroka, Dambe "will extend the frontiers of justice" - lawyers

Botswana lawyers have welcomed the appointments to the bench of the Director of Public Prosecutions, Leatile Dambe and Gaborone Regional Magistrate (South), Lot Moroka and hailed them as independent legal minds that will help advance the course of justice in Botswana.

Says the Executive Secretary of the Botswana Network on Ethics and Law (BONELA), Uyapo Ndadi, who is a lawyer by training: "The appointments are commendable and will entrench the independence of our judiciary as Moroka and Dambe are independent-minded."

The conservatism of the bench has been a sore spot across the legal profession and Batswana who take a keen interest in the advancement of justice. Describing the appointment of the two as a quantum leap, Ndadi says the two will not merely fill vacancies.
