More than 13,000 apply for TS

The number of applications received fell a little short of the 15,000 initial target announced by President Ian Khama when he officially announced the revived programme in November last year. However, Makgekgenene said this week that they are still receiving enquiries from young people interested in participating, and expect to exceed the initial target number.
"The response from the youth has been very positive. A great number of them contacted us and continue to reach us through our toll free line and other telephone numbers showing interest in the initiative. Their parents have also made enquiries and they prove to be supportive of the initiative as well," Makgekgenene said yesterday.
