Molapise to be retained as BPP president

FRANCISTOWN: For the umpteenth time Motlatsi Molapise is expected to be retained as the Botswana People’s Party (BPP) president at the party’s two-day elective conference which begins tomorrow.

Molapise will not be challenged at the elective congress which will be held at Tati Siding. Molapise who is among the longest serving BPP president was tipped to retire from active politics but has since changed his decision.

Members are said to have pleaded with the veteran politician to continue as president so that opposition unity talks are not disrupted. Molapise, who is the chairperson of the Umbrella for Democratic Change, has been openly rooting for the coalition of opposition parties.
