LOBATSE: Sunday Standard editor, Outsa Mokone has argued that a warrant of arrest issued in his name prior to his arrest and detention on September 8, 2014 was unlawful.

Mokone was arrested on September 8, 2014 following a Sunday Standard publication of a story alleging that President Ian Khama was involved in a controversial car accident.

Finer details of the fateful day emerged on Wednesday as the case was argued at length before Lobatse High Court judge, Jennifer Dube. Mokone instituted a case on urgent application seeking the court to declare the said warrant of arrest issued by Gaborone chief magistrate on his name unlawful and set it aside.
